Linda. Wow. It is so hard to feel unseen. It is so frustrating. My spouse and I broke up in January but continue to live together and, at this point, have no intention of moving to different residences as we have two children, both believe we want…

Vedek -- I can answer your question regarding my own situation, if it helps you at all. I moved in with my husband after a year of his obsessive wooing. I was his sticky focus at the beginning. Soon after moving in, he went back to school and his st…

I am so overwhelmed at the number of women who are going through and feeling exactly as I have for such a long time. Even my very best friends say the same thing like "he's just being a man" or they say "my husband does stupid things too" when they don't understand that it's not the the stupid things but the fact that there's no "connection" between us, and he thinks there is. Tthe loneliness, sadness, aloneness when I am with him that I feel, feeling invisible, feeling like to I need to compensate for his lack of socialness (I'm rambling because I feel so helpless). No one really understands unless you are living with it. I totally empathize with what you are living with. You are only 40. I am 62. You have so much life ahead of you. I am trying to decide what to do in my situation, with two daughters - one 27 and the 25. They now see and understand his behaviours. I have to much to say but not enough time right now. This letter goes out to all of you AS spouses....I'm happier when I'm out, so I'm going to run errands. Hugs to all...Linda

Thank you for replying back...so doing things alone is normal? I go to a lot of places and a lot of events alone. When its soething he wants to do he will go, if its something I want to do, he will come if I push the subject, and then find something to complain about once there. I used to think I was crzay...When I cry, he says he needs to sleep and my crying is disturbing him. I could not understand how someone can be so cold, so oblivious to what is going on. I guess now I do. The trouble I have is determing how much of it is just him or could it be something else like AS.

I read your story and can understand what you are going through. How do you do it everyday, I mean how have you put your emotions aside for so long, and do you think you have begun to mirror his ways?
