Sorry Ginger, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings... Your post is very interesting as it allows us to understand the other's reactions and feelings.

I profoundly think that beyond all classifications : male/ female, aspies/NT, etc. we are all human beings in need of affection, caring and loving,

Thanks for your post, and for all your comments that allows us to share our experiences, hopes and feelings...

Thanks for the comment! Your son may have dual disorders. I have both Aspergers and General Anxiety Disorder. Before I got medication for the anxiety I used to take out my frustrations by lashing out in anger and breaking things. I was also a pathelogical liar from ages 10 to 14. I would check into those things, because it's quite common for another disorder to be overlooked with an aspie child. My younger brother, Matt, is a high-functioning autistic, and enjoys destroying things to satisfy his curiosity. The way my parents dealt with this was to make him help put the things back together, he couldn't do anything else until it was done. He rarely EVER destroyed the same thing twice and a pattern ensued: Break, fix. So, to avoid fixing, don't break. You have to go about it as if your son were a five year-old Chuck Norris-doesn't know his own strength, you know? Hope this helps!
