Have you got children in this area that have this? I would like to meet other parents and get support. It would be nice if my son had someone that was like him. I think he feels out of place mostly

I need a new career. I would like to match myself better to my next career, I need help with this. Has any one here have tips for helping Aspergers individuals to match themselves to a career?..are there assistance programs available, is there help from agencies and individuals who understand Aspergers?

If your like me, and looking for friends with Aspergers, and help with anything related to us with Aspergers, come check out this group that meets in NC, there is no cost and no obligation. Call Jan Kay at 704-450-0532 for additional info. she is heading up this "group" and is very knowledgeable on Aspergers. I know her well, and I am part of this group. There is no catch, no traps. We are just adults with Aspergers.

I would love to meet up with other parents in the area that have kids with Asperger's in the sam age range of my child. I am still in the learning process as he was just diagnosed in the Spring. We are still learning about how to deal with our new found knowledge and how to manuver the school system, manage medicine, and help change some behaviors. My son does not have the usual social anxiety but he does have a hard time playing wiht others in regards to sharing, eye contact, and the give and take of conversations. Some of his behaviors make it difficult to maintain regular play relationships so I would love to meet up and see how he does playing with other aspie kids his own age. We live in Concord and if anyone has kids in the 4-8 year old range, I would be interested in maybe meeting up at a park and have the kids have some playtime while the parents watch and get to know each other. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I just came across this site online. My six year old son was diagnosed this year with Asperger's and ADHD. We had a medical diagnosis and also went through the school testing with a school psychologist. We are still trying to work out the whole medication part to get the right dosage to help Ryan focus and get through the day without too much obsessive behavior. Ryan is doing well academically but we are having a time trying to control his behavior issues both at home and school. I am currently looking for other families that are living with a child with Asperger's that can give advice and suggestions or just chat about our experiences. I live in Concord, NC and we currently see Dr. Stegman at Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. My son is going into the second grade at Harrisburg Elementary School. My son completed the school testing in March so we are still learning about Asperger's. I look forward to talking to other Parents/Families in the area.

I would love to get together with other parents with kids with PDD-NOS or Aspergers. I would like to exchange experiences with people who actually understand.
